Kitties Dont Like Water

Fall break! wooohooo!! haha Fall break was pretty chill and laid back. It was nice to get to sleep in like a lazy bum for the past few days! I've still stayed pretty busy though, resulting in my blog being 2 days late. Oopsieee. I have come to find out that students are like cats and must be afraid of water. Because the majority of the students don't even bother to come to any of their classes on rainy days. Who knows, maybe they will melt. I however, realize I am waterproof and that the rain will not kill me. I know, it's like magic right before my eyes aha. I may be able to do my first outside of class 'project'. I may be going to a concert next saturday in richmond. Think a concert will count as one? I hope so! That would be amazing! If not, I have other ideas of things to attend that seem kinda cool like the nutcracker. I have a friend is is in the nutcracker so I will probably go to that :)

Soccer and Procrastination

On October 25th another essay is due. It has to basically be linked to our first paper. I have no freakin idea how thats going to work out for me haha Anyways! I have decided what I'm going to do for my out of class activity assignments. Well i've decided one of them... I'm going to attend one of Richard Bland colleges soccer games. I'm actually pretty interested in soccer so it shouldn't be too painful to watch. my boyfriend plays soccer so I have actually attended quite a few soccer games. I never knew I could get into the games like I have, but surprise surprise, I actually have! I dont know what I am going to do for my other out of class activity assignment. But,I have until the end of the semester to get it done so i'm not gonna complain too much. I definitely have noticed that I procrastinate entirely way too much. goshhhhhhhhhh!!!!

Grammar Shmammar

I had to do my 'grammar schmammar' assignment with me assigned group the other day. I had been dreading it but it actually was not as awkward as I thought it would be. Did it go well? Did we do amazingly and awesomely perfect? Heck no! We were actually wrong about a lot of our work haha Our assignment was too explain and demonstrate the definition of an apostrophe. You think it is an easy thing and that common sense helps you out, when in fact.....you are very wrong. It was no more than an epic fail. BUT, we had fun :) I am hoping though that it will not end up on YouTube like Mr.Sweeney said it may. I think we did a little too rough on it for him to want to put it on YouTube. I certainly would not want to haha I am hoping that English class will continue to be this fun and interactive. Once the pressure of standing up in front of class had faded, it was a lot of fun. I'm also hoping that my blogger will continue to work. Cause when it doesn't.....that is not good for me.

MY BLOGGER IS WORKING AGAIN!! HALELUJAH!!

So, my blogger has not been working in forever and now it is working again!!!!!!! I'm so excited you just have no idea. It has been sooooo frustrating!! Now I have to catch up and explain to Mr.Sweeney what was going on. Hopefully it will all be okay! So recently in English class we have been talking about our personal narrative paper on how language has affected your life. I wrote mine on curse words and how people use them way to much. Even in front of children, causing them to say them also. I hope my paper is great and that it shows how hard I worked on it. It didn't take me long once I got the general idea of what I wanted my topic to be on. Sweeney seems like a very understanding English teacher so hopefully if I didn't do well, he will explain to me what I need to work on the most to improve my paper writing skills. I don't think it was too bad. Guess I will find out soon!! Gosh I hope its good.

2nd blogger blogggggggggggg

           English 100B has been very interesting, we've read many very interesting stories that some honestly kinda confuse me. I recently read the story "Mother Tongue" about a young girl who grew up in a home with her mother who spoke very, for lack of a better word, 'broken' English. It was very often hard for people to fully understand her while trying to keep a conversation with her. The young girl often had to speak for and translate what her Mom was saying. Whether it be over the phone or in person. She was often made fun of for her 'broken' English. Her daughter could understand her very clearly, whereas for everybody else, it was very hard to understand her. This story has proven the effect that language can have in ones life. It's very hard to communicate with somebody that you cannot understand. Language is a very important necessity in life. If you live where everybody speaks English, and you are not fluent, many people will not a any idea what on earth you are talking about. Language is a part of our everyday lives. Without it, life would be very complicated. I have no completed my second blog. Woohooooo! haha

My First Blogger Blog

     I am having to write this blog for English class at Richard Bland College, which so far is going fairly well. My English teacher is pretty great and very understanding, which makes him actually very easy to get along with. I am not 100% sure how to do this so far but I am quickly getting the hang of it. I have to type up a blog like this once a week for this whole semester of English, so hopefully I am indeed doing something write to get good grades on it. I'm not too sure if it's okay to throw sarcasm in this, but hopefully it is.... cause it will probably happen. I'm also typing this on my brand new computer that I got a few weeks ago. It is awesome!! College life is treating me well so far. To be honest I wasn't quite exactly looking forward to it... But I was fortunate enough to make friends the first day of the schools orientation so that helped alot. I also already happened to know people who are in a few of my classes here at Richard Bland College. It was definitely a nice surprise to see some familiar faces there. I'm going to try to do my very best in college so that I can be successful in my life to come. I suppose that about wraps up my very first blog. If you read this, I hope you didn't laugh at my epic fail at a blog. But, if you did. I do indeed understand. I would have too.
